The two classic and revered punk rock albums from The Damned’s early run (before Captain Sensible split in the 80s – to later return) are their inaugural effort ‘Damned Damned Damned’ and their third album, ‘Machine Gun Etiquette’… The first is very straightforward and raw punk rock with a heavy rock & roll feel to the songs. The well-known “New Rose” is among the songs from this album.
They returned a couple of years later with ‘Machine Gun Etiquette’, which finds them expanding their sound with Dave Vanian’s newly-adopted crooning style and a mix of garage rock and psychedelia thrown into the mix. “Love Song” and “Smash It Up” are among the songs found on ‘Machine Gun Etiquette’.
