Those crazy hardcore streetpunks, with their crazy fashions, crazy lifestyles, and crazy ideas…but they still express some VERY raw versions of the people’s thoughts (even if they spit them at you), and some of them can rock.

Howling vocals recalling the Bosstones’ Dicky Barret mark many of these tracks, while the music is very full and fast punk with a rock’n’roll twist and some lead guitar.  A great deal of this sounds like the weathered punks of olde.

“Into The Dust” is a unique song with a very memorable lead guitar hook combined with the tales of a young soldier and the miserable suicidal war veteran he may become.  While that may seem like a bit of a downer, it is catchy as hell and begs all to shout along.  ”I’ve Had Enough” is another song fitting for anywhere between the bar and the pit, and Defiance succeeds here in (accidentally?) infusing this punk album with Poison-esque guitar stylings.  Most of the songs follow a similar formula, albeit some slightly less intoxicating than this one.

To put it shortly, this is a pretty good rock album with heaps of barroom/streetpunk edge.  It doesn’t really try so much to knock you over as it wants you to tap your foot, nod your head, and shout along… and to “F-ing F off”.
